At 8:23pm the Downingtown Fire Department and surrounding mutual aid were dispatched to a residential fire in East Caln Township. Asst. Chief 45 arrived first a confirmed the report of a fire in the attack. Engine 46-1 and Tower 45 (Alert Fire Company No.1) responded at the first due engine and ladder. Engine 46-1 initiated fire attack with a 300' hose line and Tower 45 positioned themselves for vertical roof ventilation. The fire was quickly brought under control. Engine 46-2, Air 46, and Engine 45 also made the response along with various mutual aid agencies.
