Trash Fire on Norwood Road

Today at 13:42, Station 45 and 46 were dispatched to the 400 block of Norwood Road for smoke in a Dwelling. The initial report was smoke in the dwelling with no visible fire. Chief 46 arrived on scene first to find fire in a garage, attached to the dwelling, and requested a working dispatch. Tower 45 went in enroute quickly due to a crew being in station for a EVOC class hosted by DFD. Engine 46-1 went in route shortly afterwards and was the first arriving engine. Crews climbed the steep driveway to the garage and were able to put the fire out with water cans. The department was in service with PPV clearing smoke from the dwelling and also performed light overhaul in the room next to the garage. The Downingtown Fire Department cleared the call after an hour.
