| The first half of February kept our volunteers and career staff busy with fire dispatches. In total we were dispatched to 42 fire calls, which was an increase of 6 (16.7%) calls compared to February 2021 (36 calls). EMS handled 225 medical emergencies, which was an increase of 5 (2.3%) medical emergencies compared to February 2021 (220). At this current pace we're on track to handle over 500 fire dispatches and 3,000 medical emergencies.
Fire dispatches includes: fire alarms, auto accidents, house/commercial fires, gas leaks, vehicle fires, EMS assists, odor/smoke investigations, and rescues.
During the month of February we held 4 training nights. Our trainings are held on Wednesday nights. They start at 7:00pm and end anywhere between 9:00pm-9:30pm. Each training night our volunteer members practiced and trained on different skills. These skills included forcible entry and the classroom session of our annual HazMat Operations Refresher.
We continue to thank the community for their support and are always looking for new volunteer members to help us serve the Downingtown community. |
