| January was another busy month for our volunteers and career staff. We were dispatched to 44 fire calls, which was an increase of 16 (57%) calls compared to January 2021 (28 calls). EMS handled 278 medical emergencies, which was also an increase of 16 (6%) compared to January 2021 (262 calls).
Fire dispatches includes: fire alarms, auto accidents, house/commercial fires, gas leaks, vehicle fires, EMS assists, odor/smoke investigations, and rescues.
During the month of January we held 4 training nights. Our trainings are held on Wednesday nights. They start at 7:00pm and end anywhere between 9:00pm-9:30pm. Each training night our volunteer members practiced and trained on different skills. These skills included SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) refresher, primary search, downed firefighter carry, and forcible entry.
We continue to thank the community for their support and are always looking for new volunteer members to help us serve the Downingtown community. |
