Shortly before noon Downingtown Fire Department along with Station 38 (Thorndale Fire Company), Station 39 (West Bradford Fire Company), and Station 49 (East Brandywine Fire Company) were dispatched to a house fire in Downingtown Borough. Upon arrival crews found fire in the walls of the basement and quickly extinguished the fire. Crews checked for extension and ventilated the structure. The quick response by these organizations resulted in reducing the spread of the fire throughout the house.
