| Minquas Fire Company No. 2 yesterday accepted a $5,000 grant from Energy Transfer through its First Responder Fund, which will aid in the purchase of a new ambulance.
Energy Transfer is one of the largest and most diversified energy logistics companies in the country, with approximately 3,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure and gathering systems located in Pennsylvania.
“As our ambulance fleet has continued to age, we have dealt with increasing mechanical issues that not only impede our emergency response capabilities, but come with a growing financial burden,” said Minquas EMS Chief Fred Wurster III. “This grant from Energy Transfer will help us in the purchase of a much-needed new ambulance to strengthen our fleet.”
The Energy Transfer First Responder Fund provides grants on a biannual basis to help further the primary mission of first responder organizations, including local fire departments; emergency medical services; county emergency management agencies; county, regional and local police departments; and other eligible agencies. Grants are determined based on a competitive application and review process, and written applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the following cycle.
