Members attend RIT class

Two members from the Minquas Fire Company attended a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) class on Wednesday and Sunday of this week, sponsored by Thorndale Fire Company. This class is designed to teach firefighters how to perform tasks related to saving one of their own, should the need arise. Rapid Intervention is a fairly new concept in the fire service. Upon dispatch of a "working" structure fire, a company is delegated to be the RIT Company and stand by at the scene, ready to intervene if a problem arises. Successful completion of this training gives the firefighter a working knowledge of RIT concepts and how to get out of harm's way. Thank you to Thorndale Fire Company for the invitation to participate in this valuable training and for usage of the photos from thorndalefirecompany.com.
