By Minquas Fire Company No. 2
December 23, 2010

Today was another multiple call day for Minquas. At 9:23AM Stations 45 and 46 were dispatched to 30 Business and Quarry Rd, for a report of an odor investigation outside. While units were en-route, dispatch notified responders that there was an active gas leak at the scene. FM 40 was on scene and confirmed the report. Engine 46-2's crew along with Station 45 set up a water supply and pulled a hand line. PECO arrived and plugged the ruptured line and the department went available at 10:33AM.

At 4:52PM Stations 45 and 46 were dispatched to the Chestnut Street Apartments for a report of an automatic fire alarm activation. Deputy 45 arrived on scene and advised that the activation was due to burnt food. Crews from 45 and 46 ventilated the building and returned to service at around 5:10PM.

Units: Engine 46-2, Engine 46-1

Mutual Aid: Engine 45, Tower 45, Rescue 45
