The Minquas Fire Company was alerted twice during a beautiful Sunday for separate incidents. The first dispatch came in at 10:00AM to assist the ambulance in Downingtown Borough. Engine 46-2 made the response with a crew of 4. Upon arrival crews assisted with patient packaging and extrication from the home. Station 45 also assisted the members during the call.
The second dispatch came in 10:30PM, slightly before duty crew hours, for an automatic fire alarm at the Norwood House Apartments. Engine 46-1 made the response with a full crew of 6 and was advised by Assistant 46 to silence and reset the fire alarm. Crews from Station 45 checked the apartment for any hazardous conditions and determined the scene to be secure. After gaining access to the fire alarm panel room, the crew from Engine 46-1 reset the alarm and the tenants could return to the structure.
