On Thursday, December 11, 2025, the East Caln Township Board of Supervisors formally dedicated the newly rebuilt Skelp Level Road Bridge in honor of former East Caln Township Supervisor Joel F. Swisher, recognizing his lifetime of service and unwavering commitment to the East Caln Township. Joel Swisher currently serves as President of the Minquas Fire Company.

President Swisher has long been a respected leader throughout the Downingtown Area and a cornerstone of the Minquas Fire Company. Over decades of service, he has held numerous leadership roles, including EMS Chairman, Fire Company President, Fire Company Vice President, and EMS Battalion Chief. In addition to his operational leadership, he played a pivotal role in the planning and completion of Minquas Fire Company’s current station on Wallace Avenue; an investment that continues to strengthen emergency services and public safety for our community.

The dedication of the Skelp Level Road Bridge stands as a lasting and visible tribute to President Swisher’s record of volunteerism, leadership, and civic engagement. The Minquas Fire Company is proud of President Swisher, grateful for his continued service, and honored by the legacy he has built in support of our community.
