On May 3, 2024 the Minquas Fire Company No.2 achieved the 75% Certification of National Professional Qualifications Standards. This achievement is valid for 3 years through the Office of the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner. We were able to accomplish this through the hard work and dedication of our members. In order to achieve this level of certification 75% of our members need to be certified to the ProBoard Firefighter I & II level. Achieving ProBoard requires candidates to successfully pass a 100 question written exam and practical testing for both Firefighter I & Firefighter II. Firefighter I is a 136 hour program, classroom and practical exercises, that teaches candidates the basics of firefighting. Firefighter II is a 100 hour program, classroom and practical exercises that expands on the basics of Firefighter I and teaches more advanced levels of firefighting. Thank you to our municipal partners, Downingtown Borough, PA - Municipal Government and East Caln Township, PA, for their continued support of our organization. Our long term goal is to achieve 100% certification status through the Office of the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner as we continue to encourage our members to strive for excellence. |
