Station 46 was dispatched to a downed wires call in the 100 block of Lake Drive. Chief 46 arrived onscene to find downed wires and a small brush fire in the rear of the homes on Lake Drive and Pennsylvania Ave. Engine 46-1 arrived on the Pennsylvania Ave. side and stretched a preconnect into the rear of the homes. The Brush truck from Station 45 was dispatched as well to assist 46 on the call. The brush fire could not be put out due to the downed wires still being live. PECO was notified. The small brush fire was monitored until the power was eventually shut off allowing the fire to be put out. Station 45 and 46 then cleared the call after a long (4.5 hours), cold day.
