On Monday afternoon we were dispatched to our 500th call of 2021. This is the highest amount of dispatched calls we've had since we started keeping track of calls electronically. Last year we were dispatched to 378 calls and the last time we were close to 500 calls was in 2014 (489).

We're always looking for more volunteers as our call totals continue to increase. Stop down on any Wednesday night between 6:00pm and 8:00pm to talk to our officers and pick up an application. No experience required and all training and equipment is provided at no cost to you. We look forward to you joining us.

*500 calls does not include all the calls that weren't dispatched during Hurricane Ida. We estimate that with those non-dispatched emergencies we are close to 600 or more calls for the year.
