At 11:36am on Monday, September 6th, the Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of 113 and the Route 30 bypass. Engine 46-2 arrived on scene within minutes and found one vehicle overturned and down an embankment with two occupants trapped inside.
Engine 46-2 crews immediately put a hand line into service as a precaution and worked with Rescue 45 crews to stabilize the vehicle. Rescue 45 was able to quickly remove the roof of the vehicle in order to extricate the second patient. Both occupants were transported by MICU 46-1 and MICU 46-2 to area hospitals.
Engine 45 and Utility 46 also made the call. |
