Busy Sunday

Sunday was a busy day for members of Minquas and DFD. It started out with back to back calls around 8am with a motorcycle accident and a fire alarm. While some members were on station engaging in some physical fitness in the early afternoon, Station 46 was dispatched to relocate to Station 49 (East Brandywine) while they assisted Station 48 (Glenmoore) on a brush fire involving about 1 1/2 acres. Engine 46-2 made the response with a crew of 5. Soon after arriving, Engine 46-2 was requested to setup a fill site for the tankers transporting water to the units operating in the field. Crews were directed to a cul-de-sac development where the tankers could easily turn around and fill up. Engine 46-2 filled 3 tankers and operated for about 2 hours. While returning to Downingtown, crews were directed to Ashbridge Square shopping center for a smoldering mulch fire in an island. In total, Station 46 answered 6 calls for the day.
