| At approximately 6:30PM Engine 46-2 was requested to relocate to West Bradford Fire Company's (W.B.F.C.) Sub-Station along with Engine 47-5. At this time the W.B.F.C. along with other mutual aid companies were operating at an outbuilding fire in the 500 block of Brandywine Drive in W.B.F.C.'s first due local. Enroute to the sub-station both Engine 46-2 and Engine 47-5 were redirected to the scene of the incident. Engine 46-2 was assigned to the water supply tanker fill site to supplement the tanker task force. Difficulty in securing a reliable water supply led to a search for water in the rural fire district. A lack of fire hydrants in the immediate area of the incident sent the tanker task force to the Embreeville Road "PennDot Yard" where hydrant's were quickly deemed insufficient by the Water Supply Officer. Tankers became redirected to the fire hydrant at the water towers next to the Embreeville Pennsylvania State Police Barracks. Unfortunately, tankers remained deprived of water as this hydrant failed shortly after setting up the fill site at this location. As options were running out, assistance from The Chester County Fire Radio's CAD system resulted in the fill site being relocated to an alternate location: Shagbark Drive - Tattersall Development & Route 162. A back up of empty tankers occurred from the down time of the initial site selection, hydrant failure, relocation of the fill site, and set up once again. However, after approximately 30 minutes a secure water supply was maintained for the remainder of the tanker task force water supply operation. |
