By Minquas Fire Company No. 2
July 15, 2010

Downingtown Fire Department (Stations 46 and 45) was dispatched to the 300 block of Lancaster Ave. for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 46 and Deputy 45 arrived to find a 3 story tax payer with nothing showing from Side A. Upon further investigation, Deputy 45 advised of a fire in the wall of a second story apartment. Crews from Station 46 and 45 stretched a hand line and placed it into service on the second floor and checked for extension. The structure was ventilated and crews went back in service.

Minquas EMS established rehab at the scene due to weather conditions and cared for firefighters and residents involved in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Thank you to Station 6 (West Whiteland) and Station 55 (Good Fellowship Ambulance) for covering Station 46 during the incident.
