It was a busy duty crew night for the members of the Sunday night duty crew as they ran 3 separate incidents starting at 2:15 AM and ending at 6:00 AM Monday morning.
The first dispatch called for Stations 45 and 46 to assist Station 39 (West Bradford) with an auto accident in the area of Creagh Knoll Lane and Shadyside Drive. Before any response from either station the Chester County Fire Board advised both stations that they could recall the assignment.
The second dispatch called for Station 46 to assist Station 47 (Lionville Fire Company) with a building fire. Engine 46-1 and Air 46 simultaneously made the response. Crews from both units were told to assist the crew from Engine 47-2 in investigating the building for any smoke or heat using a thermal imager. There was a strong odor of smoke in the building but no visible fire or smoke was present. Upon investigation by Tower 47 it was determined to be a malfunctioning HVAC unit on the roof and all 46 units returned to the Borough.
The third dispatch was received just after shift change for a report of a car fire at Green Street and East Lancaster Avenue. Assistant Chief 46 responded and went on-scene to find a car leaking oil. It was determined that no fire company response was needed and the assignment was recalled.
All in all it was a busy night for The Sunday Squad!
