On Saturday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m., Stations 45 and 46 were dispatched to The Home Depot in East Caln Township for the report of a natural gas leak inside. Assistant Chief 46 went on-scene and advised the first responding units to investigate the building. Engine 46-1 made the response along with Rescue and Engine 45. Both arrived on-scene and investigated the building with gas meters. A strong odor of natural gas was evident therefore PECO was notified and asked to respond. While waiting for PECO, crews set up both negative and positive pressure fans to remove the natural gas odor from the building. After PECO responded they handled the situation and determined it was safe for both stations to clear the scene. All DFD units cleared the scene per Home Depot Command Post at around 9:00 p.m.
