Minquas EMS Finds House on Fire / Gets Residents to Safety
By Minquas Fire Company No. 2
January 9, 2010
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Minquas Ambulance 46-1 with Medic 46 on board came across a structure fire while returning from Chester County Hospital. They observed flames from the roof of a dwelling and promptly notified Chester County Fire Radio to dispatch a fire response. Crews from the ambulance notified the occupants to the presence of fire and removed them from the structure and from harms way. Stations 45 and 46 responded and were able to make a quick knock on the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals office.
Special thanks to Stations 39 (West Bradford) and 38 (Thorndale) for providing standby coverage in the Borough during the incident, and Downingtown Borough Public Works for salting for us on a cold night.
This was also the first working fire response for both of our new ambulances, which were both just recently certified and placed into service.
