House Fire Assist In East Brandywine

By Minquas Fire Company No. 2
April 3, 2019

At 3:31pm, Air 46 and MICU 46 were dispatched to assist Station 49 (East Brandywine FC) on a working house fire in the Applecross Development. Shortly after Deputy 49 (Edwards) arrived onscene, a second alarm was requested and the assignment was upgraded to possible entrapment. Engine 46-2 responded on the second alarm and the crew arrived and assisted with fire suppression efforts directed by Captain 46 (Marks). Air 46 arrived behind the engine and set up for filling SCBA bottles. Battalion 46 (Brooks) was requested by Command 49 (D'Amico) to establish a manpower pool in the front yard for all incoming mutual aid units. MICU 46-2's crew set up rehab and EMS supplies across the street from the fire scene for standby. Despite being faced with high winds and heavy fire conditions by initially arriving crews, a great team effort kept the damage from spreading throughout the entire structure. Searches of the home found nobody to be inside and all occupants were safely located. Minquas fire crews assisted with extensive overhaul of the structure and were later released by command as mutual aid units were cleared during the investigation.

Minquas FC returned at 4:55pm.
