| Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 3:15 PM to the area of the 300 block of Farmhouse Road, in the Sunnybrook section of Downingtown, for a report of a house fire. Additional information provided at dispatch was a neighbor across the street reporting smoke from a second floor window of a house.
Deputy 46 and Assistant 45 arrived on scene with a two story dwelling with smoke showing from a second floor window. The address was updated to be in the 300 block of Devon Court.
Engine 46-1 and Tower 45 responded to the scene. Engine 46-1 secured a water supply and made an interior attack on the fire. Meanwhile, the crew from Tower 45 went into service to search the building for possible occupants. The fire was held to the room of origin and no victims were located in the structure. Mutual aid companies, that were dispatched to assist, arrived on scene and assisted with checking for extension and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.
